The Southampton Region Hoteliers Association is pleased to announce Mario Martinisi as its new Chair

Mario Martinisi, Hotel Manager at New Place Hotel, recently took over the reins of the Southampton Region Hoteliers Association, following the successful leadership from Nathan Chart.

His passion for the hotel sector is deeply rooted in a genuine love for creating unforgettable experiences for guests, as well as community engagement, sustainability and supporting staff development.

“It’s an honour to take on this role, and I firmly believe that by standing together, we can achieve something truly special. Our shared passion for hospitality, combined with our unity, is what will set us apart from other regions. By embracing and showcasing local products and nurturing local talent, we can offer our guests an authentic experience that reflects the heart of our community. Together, we can turn our region into a must-visit destination, where every guest leaves with unforgettable memories and a true sense of what makes us unique.”

Mario’s career began in hospitality working at a USA bakery when he was 15 years old. Over the course of three years, Mario discovered a passion for hospitality, realising its significant impact on people’s lives.

He honed his customer service, operations, and leadership skills in diverse restaurants across the USA, Peru, and Portugal. In 2015, he transitioned to the UK hotel sector, gaining valuable experience in large-scale operations and guest services. 

A dedicated hospitality professional and active community member through his involvement with HOSPA, the Institute of Hospitality, and an Employer Advisory College Board member.
